My hubby said his boss just bought his wiffe a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer for his wife at an auction. It was a repo and only has 27,000 miles on it. His boss bought it for 11,000 cash. My hubby and his boss word for NE Auto Auction so they know all about cars and all that jazz. Obviously it was a great deal. The only thing is she doesnt want it b/c she wants a Tahoe. So as my hubby and I are looking for a SUV we said we will buy it from you. Right now I have a 04 Pontiac Sunfire with 58,000 Miles on it. Should i trade it in for the Mercury? What are your thoughts with this SUV?

  1. Depending on build date, 9 chances out of 10, its out of factory 3 yr/36k warranty. Overall I rate them better than the Pre 2001 Explorer crowds, the only major problem we had with them was rear wheel bearings becoming very loose. Just something to check out. I would say 11k is fair, just because its gonna be close, if not already out of warranty. The auto 4wd feature seems to work good.
