  2. I like this much better than the car it was based on. Too bad Pontiac is done.

  4. @MrPeace2All they did this is just a custom job from a new camaro…would be awesome if gm did this though..

  5. Your quite right , the Firebird was always the same body as the Camaro. I have the 1967 Firebird test drive from Mechanics Illustrated when it was still very new. The body is definitely the same as the Camaro , just different headlight and taillight treatment. Hell they had that in 2001. I always figured they stole a Camaro body and removed the front end pieces and used Pontiac parts.

  6. Now that’s a nice looking car. I remember the old ones back in the 70′s and the 80′s . If it’s a kit well it should sell well. Only headache I see is the Camaro emblems inside. They could be replaced.

  11. this is like a customized camaro

  12. I see people complaining about how GM took the new camaro and molded it to look like a Firebird, But Gm has always done that, every Firebird is based off of the Camaro, I always felt that the Firebird looked better since the 70s and i would take this New Black Firebird T/A over any new retroized Muclecar, even the Challenger which is my favorite of the new MC’s.

  13. When can we buy one?

    Comment by LetsRoll777 — April 4, 2010 @ 9:19 pm

  14. its not really a pontiac production transam. all they did was take a camaro and slapped on transam decals. sort of a let down.

  17. @granthemenway Too bad GM is GM and killed off yet another part of American history. Pontiac has been in existence for ONE HUNDRED AND THREE YEARS, amazing isn’t it. I agree with you the Firebird/Trans Am has always been a cool car and this prototype is awesome, too bad it will never happen. But that’s what happens when small companies are bought out into one giant governing body. Parts of it must go in hard times. Soon GM will only be Chevrolet.

  18. i feel the head lights need to be square and the back needs to dip in not out and rework the tail lights make it look more like the 77 so far ok not great and put some t tops in it

    Comment by bdogcrazytransam — April 4, 2010 @ 9:19 pm

  19. It still looks like a Camaro, and it does not look like his computer design at all not even the wheels. I am a big Trans Am fan and own an LS1 Trans Am, if he they would do it just like his design then it would look awesome.

  20. WOW that is mean!

    Comment by kestkr — April 4, 2010 @ 9:19 pm

  21. Just like the recent line of lame Chevy rebadges that GM threw out to Pontiac in order to close down the division. Adding the IMPORTS rebadged as Pontiac. Aussie Holden can NEVER be a Pontiac. Well, at least to me.

    Comment by Grandam1999 — April 4, 2010 @ 9:19 pm

  22. Nah, No thanx. Just a re-grilled camaro garbage. I know most of you will say Camaro and Firebird are the same cars, but to me, they are not. They may share the body, mechanics, and engines, but the outgoing model had DIFFERENT front-end, rear-end, and the whole interior that set it unique over the plain jane looking Camaro. Curse me, flame me, whatever, but this version DOES NOT look, or FEEL like Pontiac. It’s just the Camaro with the Pontiac logo.

    Comment by Grandam1999 — April 4, 2010 @ 9:19 pm

  23. As a boy, seeing the Camaro and Trans Am as a kid, I think this is an appropriate duplication from the past. No- they never were totally different cars. They were BASE SIMILAR. But the Trans Am must come back. Hopefully enough interest for production.
