Are there any tips on Buying a Used Car?
30th June 2011
What are some recommendations of things that I should look out for when buying a used car? I plan on buying a 2000 or less car hoping for a BMW or Toyota. Is Ebay a good place to buy cars from?
If I decide to go the auction route I don’t get to test drive or really get a feel for the vehicle.
What are other peoples experiences with police auction vehicles?

You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

The very best thing you can do is have a mechanic check the car before you buy it. Aside from that, pull out the oil dipstick and make sure there are no shavings in it. Drive it before you decide. You can also run a carfax report and make sure it hasn’t been wrecked. Just remember, if you buy it on ebay, you can’t drive it first.

If you are going to go the auction route then I would suggest trying out GovernmentAuctions.org They have a large nationwide list of surplus and seized cars. Most of the time you are better off going through an official police or government auction to find a car on the cheap. Those cars are usually in better shape than anything you would find in a lot and you also don’t have to deal with a car salesman chewing your ear off for an hour.
