Hello, I am interested in buying a former police car aka crown vics. I seen many bogus websites stating they are a government auction website. Can anyone give me a true website/s or location for auctions from the city or government? I live in San Jose,California (Santa Clara County)

  1. Depending upon the department located closest to you, most agencies will just auction their vehicles themselves or have an outside agency do it for them. I know around our parts, we always have to post public notices of the auctions.

I would say that since you live in a larger area, try contacting some of your local police departments directly and ask. They should be able to provide you with the information you seek.

I would stay away from those internet sites.

  2. Check out http://www.mycarauctionreview.com
They have a review of a couple of car auction sites you can join that will give you a list of government auctions.
