can I get my repossessed car back if I file chapter 13 bankruptcy?
27th December 2009
I found this intresting tidbit while doing some research online…
Repossession of Property: Not just phone calls and unfriendly visits, filing for bankruptcy will help you get back any property (including cars) that the creditor may have repossessed. (Provided the property has not been sold!)
from http://www.bankruptcyhome.com/creditandbankruptcy.htm
my car was reposessed about 2 weeks ago and is just now going up for sale. If I file for bankruptcy is it really possible to get my car back before its sold. I believe filing would require the bank to put a hold on the sale.

I looked at the site link and noticed all kinds of grammar errors, pieced together information that once you read it makes no logical sense (as if they used free content they found and put it together for the site).
Your best bet is to take advantage of the 1 hour free consult with a real bankruptcy attorney in your city and ask about getting your repossessed car back if you file.
Some of the information online is ‘close’ to accurate, some is accurate and some of it will get you into all kinds of trouble.
Find a real attorney and ask is the only way to be sure.

Have you tried consulting a bankruptcy attorney about this? You really should, if you dilly dally too much it will probably be sold before you even file.
