What is the Auto Auction in the report? Is it saying that the owner want to sell it through auto auction?

And since Dec. 2007, the mileage grows only less than 100 miles. Say parking for 2 years, will the car be wracked?

  1. the car was formally in a fleet of some kind – typically this means it was a rental car OR that it was part of a compamny lease. for example, a company car provided to an employee.

It looks like the car has had two owners. The first one bought it in 97 and kept it through 2007, when it was sold at an auction. It was registered in 2005 then it went to auction in 2007.

In 07 it was purchased at auction most likely by a dealer. It went to KC Mo in 08 and was likley sold and registered then.

Based on the dates I see here, it looks like registration in Missouri is good for 2 years (reg 98, 99, 01, 03, 05 etc)

If the car has been parked for 2 years, thats all the better reason to have a mechanic inspect it prior to purchasing. In 2 years, seals can crack and deteriorate, hoses become dry and cracked, as do belts. Its not neccessarilly a bad thing to buy this car based on this information. But no matter what – do not buy ANY used car unless a mechanic looks it over and gives it a clean bill of health first.

  2. It’s saying it was auctioned, perhaps to the current owner. If it has sat for two years I don’t think it will be a complete loss (especially if garaged), but it will need some attention

  3. The car has s steady history of registration renewals so I doubt if the car sat. It wouldn’t be registered every year if it wasn’t being driven.

It was a lease car to begin with but is seems like the owner must have purchased the car after the lease was up. No lease lasts 10 years. That explains why no title was issued until the car was sold at auction.

What puzzles me is the lack of mileage data. No mileage was reported until after the auction. A 10 year old car with less than 70,000 miles is not normal. But if the odometer and this report match then I wouldn’t be too concerned about it.

I’d run an independent Carfax report or an AutoChek report just to see if the information is the same.
