Fuel Injection Cleaning

15th May 2010

It is extremely critical that you know how to clean your fuel injector, because deposits can form at the tip of the injector, and once this occurs, things only become progressively worse. The main reason why these deposits form is because when a thoroughly heated engine is shut off, your water pump no longer circulates coolant.

Thus, the engine temperature instantly shoots up, and any fuel left at the tip of the fuel injector is immediately subjected to a “heat soak” period, where it is immediately baked onto your injector. So what can be done to clean your fuel injector, so that you don’t have a dangerous porous mass constantly forming? Here are 3 must know fuel injector cleaning tips….

Cleaners which are added to the fuel tank may not be effective in cleaning your fuel tank and this may not be really helpful.

Additives help in keeping the injectors free of dust, dirt and grim and hence oil companies manufacture these additives so that the fuel injector remains healthy and in working condition.

The disadvantages of additives is that it adds to the already bad condition of the intake valve and hence it is imperative that you maintain your intake valves well and free from harmful deposits.

If you go in for reputed brands of fuels, you can be assured that your fuel injector remains neat and healthy for quite a long period of time.

You certainly get what you pay for in this situation, as brand name fuels always have additives anyways which will easily prevent deposits from forming on your injector.

It is advised that you maintain your fuel injector by getting it cleaned and serviced every 25000 miles, so that there is no excess strain on your vehicle.

Many of the injector models were not successful in sorting out the problem, on the contrary it led to further problems

You will have to do less fuel injector cleanings if you simply switch from a pintle model, to the disc, ball, and seat design.

Adopting the disc design would lessen the formation of deposits, but it would not completely wipe out the problem.

As well you will need to replace your injector, if your regular fuel injector cleaning processes do not remove the buildup, so remember this respectively.

It is important to keep your injectors clean. Visit our website as we discuss more on fuel injector cleaning today.
