This really needs an answer, as I believe this is cops overstepping thier bounds by leaps. Apparently they can arrest you, and take your vehicle, and sell it at auction, leaving you to still pay for it with your auto company. What the fuck do these officers think they are doing, fucking someones life completely over for a responsible adult wishing to enjoy a PLANT!!!! This didn’t happen to me, but I saw it on an episode of "COPS".

  1. that’s a good question. i don’t understand either…how it’s illegal to have a pure plant in your car, but it’s legal to have a bottle of chemicals which can result in puking, over dosing, addiction, possible death from addiction, and possible death from withdrawal from addiction if you decide to get better.

  2. It’s a controlled substance, and if anyone is illegally in possession of it, they can confiscate whatever property it was found in.

  3. Oh wow, COPS, where everyone should get their info. Most likely the car was towed and the deadbeat pot head couldn’t afford to get it out. After 90 days they can sell it. Make sure you present the whole story.

  5. I believe this is cops overstepping thier bounds by leaps

They are not overstepping they are just enforcing the laws that our government has passed. It is not the cops fault but the governments fault

over for a responsible adult wishing to enjoy a PLANT

while I don’t think that plant should be illegal it is so the adult in question is not being responsible by breaking the law

FYI, they can also take and sell your house

  6. Well, get over it. Until it is legalized that is ‘just the facts ma’am"
It happens all the time and you can take advantage of it and go to the police auctions and get some pretty nice vehicles cheap. We got a 2 yr old Camaro for 1200.00 a couple yrs ago and resold it for 5x that much!! :)

  7. Some states are really bad — I doubt this would happen in California

  10. First of all, don’t believe everything you see on TV.

What usually happens is that the cops confiscate the car to be used as evidence. If the owner cannot, or does not, pay the storage fee to get it out, then the storage facility can sell it. Any excess revenue after storage costs are paid are returned to the owner. If the car wasn’t paid off, then the bank would get this payment.

  11. Cops can only sell the car if you don’t pay the tow fine. Cop Auctions. You have 90 days to come up with the money. Do some research.
