I have always purchased my autos from my brother-in-law, who owns an independent (non-franchised) dealer. Since he buys the cars at auction, I save a lot of money. However, I’m currently unable to find anybody making loans for independent dealer purchases and I won’t finance the car through my brother-in-law’s lot. I have a credit score of 791 and have had numerous offers for "franchised" dealer purchases and person to person loans for cars. But none of the banks or lenders are allowing purchases from independent dealers. Where can I get a loan I can use at an independent dealer?

  1. Chase is the only major online auto lender who still allows purchases from independent dealers for now. Check them out or definitely check out your local bank or credit union as they may be more flexible. Alternatively, consider an unsecured/personal loan from a company like FirstAgain.com who specializes in personal loans to individuals with excellent credit.

  2. Wow..this seems strange. I sale cars…(Used) …not a Franchised Car Dealership. You have a Excellent credit score. I don’t know what state you live in ..but where I am from our local banks would give you money to buy a vehicle in a heartbeat.

  3. It should really save you some money to just get a car loan quote online to verify what the going rates are. You might be totally happy. Also if your credit is not the best, a lot of online loaners are more able to help people.

What I usually tell friends is that an internet quote at http://auto.lowratetoday.com is worthwhile.
