I know someone whom I don’t like and is far behind on the payments. They cover the vin in the windshield everywhere they park and uses an alias at all times. I would love for this person to get what they deserve.

Tell me what he did, and I may advise

you shouldn’t mess with Kharma – if the person is as bad as you think they are – it will catch up with them.
you turn them in and you may have something coming you way.
Oh and if you don’t believe in kharma –
the Lord said – vengeance is mine.
Just think about it….you could probably be a lot happier directing your efforts toward doing something good for someone.

You would just have to call the dealer who he bought it from…
But why would you want to?

Why would you be a rat like that?

What is stopping you from calling the police?
Comment by Kathryn R — November 30, 2009 @ 6:38 am
report it to the local police station as repo people contact them to let them know they are repo ing a car so the person can’t call it in stolen

What goes around comes around. It’s none of your business, stay out of it.

First of all, hiding the car only works for so long. The company that has the financing knows their tag number. And eventually they will bring the police to their door to turn over the car. You don’t have to do anything. Nor would I get involved. It just isn’t a good move for you to make.

Tell the bank where the car is at. The license plate will verify it for them.

"Instant Karma’s gonna get you"…sounds like they are getting what they deserve…paranoia. Just remember what goes around comes around.

When I read your question, I thought, ‘I don’t know but I wanna find out’. I’m bad for wanting to anonymously report things. But, as I read through the answers, I have to say, the karma people make their point.
Come on, the people making the loan want their money or their car- they’re not gonna wait on it forever. They probably have set times when they make each move- say, a call x days after the payment is due, a letter this number of days more- first repo attempt this day, and so on. Everyone gets what they deserve, eventually.

You would need to know who is the lender and which repo agent they are using. You can contact the lender directly and advise them and then they can contact the repo agent. If you know who the repo agent is then you can contact them directly.

How do you know he is really hiding from the repo man? If this is true, and you know the repo company or the bank, call them and let them know. People who don’t pay their bills cost all of us money each and every year.

Why would you devote energy to someone you don’t like. You need to handle your own affairs. Have you heard of KARMA. Well you should devote this negative energy to something else.
Comment by Candi — November 30, 2009 @ 6:38 am
well eventually the repo man will catch up with them. They should know the plate number on the vehicle. Contact the repo or finance company and see if they have a finders fee on the vehicle. most will pay something if it gets them their car back. covering the vin don’t always work. All finance companies and repo ppl have keys for the vehicle. If they think it is the vehicle they are looking for, all they need to do is try the key. If it works in the door lock then they can always move what ever is over the vin to double check and then take the car. Either do what you feel you need to about it or just stay out of it. They might retaliate back against you if they find out you turned in their car..

If you know who they got the loan through just tell them where it is. If the police are involed tell them.

Do you know what happens to snitches? They are like bugs. The lowest form of life. Eventually they get stepped on. Tread lightly!
Comment by forktonguebush — November 30, 2009 @ 6:38 am
Well, theres no one to turn them into, except the financing company (who they defaulted on the loan) and the repo company (contracted by the loan company and unlikely for you to find out who it is). If you know who the finance company is (who gave the loan on the vehicle) then you could call them (I’m sure they would love to hear from you). If you do not know who the financing company is then you’re wasting your time. If it’s a GM vehicle, then likely the financing company is GMAC.

Nobody deserves a car. Cars are for assholes.
The police aren’t really involved; call the person’s loan company or the credit company that is after him/her.
Then sell your own car, too.
