Depends on contract, thats the bottom line. I have never ever see a contract, for a car loan, that said 30/60/90 days. Most contracts gives a due date, most read if you miss it you are BREECHING the contract. This simply means you have not held up to your end of the deal. Most if not All loan companies note in their contracts that they can CALL on the the loan at anytime. Some loan companies also state any CIRCUMSTANCES that severly change your income they can call your loan. This is their protection for loaning you money. The others giving you advise on "staying in touch, is very true. Also there is one state we will not repo from and it is not Michigan, we will pick them up in a minute in this state. La. we will not/ They are their own Parish.

the key here is car title loan.. those places, depending on what state you are in, can come after the car within hours of you missing a payment. They dont play around. They lend very little against the value of the car, and even though interest rates are very high, what is the interest on 1000 bucks compared to grabbing a 5000 dollar car and selling it in 1 week for 3000. Triple their money in a week. Not rocket science. I had someone who got their 2 yr old Chevy Pickup (worth about 17k) grabbed for the 6k title loan they had on it. They were 7 days late, but were ignoring the calls of the lender. Bad move. Talk to them, but you need to have something to tell them... "I have no idea when I can pay you" wont work.

anytime after 30 days they have the right to take it,and usually they will, unless they hear from you about it,so don't think that avoiding them will stop them from getting it,they will find it and take it ,its best to stay in touch with them if possible and let them know you intend to pay for it,good luck on it.

It takes as long as somebody driving by all your references houses, with a flashlight at 2am in a tow-truck.

It would depend on the specifics of the contract agreed to by the borrower. Without that information all the "answers" here are guesses.
