How much should I pay for a used car that is stable and durable in the US
I am gonna pursue my graduate degree in the US soon,, so,,thinking about getting a car… I don’t care about the year, or model or displacement, just an used car that is durable and seldom has problems.
And do the prices of used cars differ greatly among different states?

$3,000 to $4,000
the cars in the South have less damage from salt/ snow
but you need to check for flood damage.

Try http://www.autotrader.com or ebay motors.
My opinion is $5000 will be a good car.

I’m also a college student, and I bought my car on craigslist.com and got it for $900. It’s not the prettiest car, but it has lasted a year without any problems and it gets me to and from school and work just fine!

VW Jetta would be a good durable car to buy. You could buy a used one ranging from $4000 to about $8000 depending on model and options that could last you for the duration of your studies and it holds a good resale too.
