My car was towed and the towing charges were so extreme that I couldn’t afford to get it out. They are now selling it at Auction on Sept. 3rd. That means that with the daily charge, it will amount to over ,900.
I am responsible for paying the difference if the car auctions for less. I am trying to get any kind of ballpark estimate for how much a car like that might sell for.
It is 4 wheel drive with 82,000 miles.

Has anyone bought a Jeep Cherokee Sport at Police Auction?

  1. Checked KBB values. My guess is that it will bring at most $1500, and will probably be less.
People go to auctions looking for good deals, so a high price will not be had as I would go to a car lot and buy before giving top dollar at an auction for something I can not test drive.

  2. It should be in the ballpark. Too bad, and I know what you mean about the towing charges, someone stole my disabled father’s truck, and they charged me $300 to get it back after a single day. I really shouldn’t be surprised, even more police corruption.
If you want to get back at them, just put some gasoline in those diesel trucks of theirs, it will at the least make them pump out the diesel and dispose of it after the engine stops running, and it may actually destroy the engine.
