If a car gets repossessed and there are illegal drugs in it ,are we still punishable by law?

If so, then how do they know it was not planted there by the repo man himself and not the owner of the car?
Should the prior owner of the car be given the benefit of the doubt?

If the drugs are not in your possession, the car is not in your possession, then there’s no proof (unless of course they fingerprint the doggy bag and your prints are all over it)
Over here people get hire cars to transport drugs, that way it’s not their vehicle and they claim anyone could have put them in the door panel etc…
