  1. Well to start with, auctions can be the best of and the worst of any automobile experience. You as a dealer should already be armed with a NADA or "Blue Book" to give you an idea what a car or truck is worth. Now you saying you have had Mechanic experience, you should know how things work but it is impossible to read a cars mind at an auction to see what has been done to it and what underlying problems it already has, or if it is a real, not doctored to sell automobile!

It is hard to tell you how to achieve what I think you want in a paragraph. You do need experience though, so I would suggest, go to some of the local auctions, talk to people, experience the atmosphere but don’t be lured by eye candy! The Sow’s ear dressed to sell if you catch my drift. If you know a dealer that does the auction thing, ask if you can tag along a few times to get the feel for it. There will be disappointments with some purchases no doubt! We all have them when buying a vehicle! Hope this helps! Good Luck!
