  1. Make sure you bring a good mechanic with you when buying. That’s your best seeing they are being sold "as is".

  2. I can pretty much agree….I bought a car 2 yrs. ago from an auction…I drove maybe 2 miles up the street after I bought it and it completely went out on me….I had it towed back up to where I bought it and they told me they would fix the problem for $900.00 more…remember these cars are "as is" so you never know what you are gonna get….the good thing is that the auction where I bought my car closed down like 5 months later.

  3. It’s not a scam, but unless you know about cars, you’d better bring somebody who does. If they won’t let you see it run before you bid on it, don’t buy it.

  4. You have to realize that you are buying a car that has no warranty, no carfax details and no guarantees. Thats why you are buying for wholesale and not retail prices. The best advice I can give you is to take an experienced mechanic with you , but even in that the mechanic has to mean to hoist it up on a lift to give it a thorough look, so you are takiing your chances in buying a car at the auction.
Alot of dealers buy cars at the auction, fix them up and sale them at a profit, so if you purchase a car at the auction, expect to put some money in it for repairs.
