After you buy a warranty for a used car at a dealership and something is wrong with the car and you bring it back to them, I heard that dealerships will usually tell you that there’s nothing wrong with the car and refuse to fix it. Is this true or do they usually fix it for you without giving you a hard time? Is it actually worth buying a warranty?

No, I made that mistake once and not again.
The car developed a problem in less then 90 days, so the warranty was not valid because it was preexisting. That was what the warranty said, I had to pay for the repairs and the warranty was not needed for any repairs that equaled the cost of the policy.
Now if I was buying a Toyota, Chrysler, or GM product I would think twice because more then likely they will break down. But I drive Fords, Mazda and Honda products and in ten years I don’t think I have spent 2000 dollars on any one of them. I use the figure 2000 dollars because the last time some one tried to sell me an extended warranty that was the figure quoted for only three years worth of coverage.

lot of different warrantys out there/some good some bad/best type is the one that you take car to your garage and they inspect it/usually its drive train and its less than 400 bucks/these super expensive warranties dont do any better/get a copy of the warranty and call the company/how long they have been in business etc

If I was buying say a used Chrysler Voyager that has known problems with the transmission I’d pay up to $900 for a warranty that covers the transmission since a rebuilt transmission and labor will probably be over $2,000 and I’d make out on the deal. You need to research what you are buying. As a general rule the warrantys are not worth it.

trust me it is completely worth it, i recently purchased a car and they said they fixed some problems but they did not and i called them up and they put all new brakes in since they didn’t fix the problem the first time (problem was the brakes were grinding a lil bit) they replaced one caliper but they replaced the wrong caliper and the other is still sticking so the rotors were worn unevenly a bit and they said if i didn’t have the warranty i wouldn’t have been able to get this fixed
