  1. Sid Luft was a parasite who never did a day’s work from the time he met Judy until his death, leaching off of her for over 50 years.

  4. you can’t hold on to everything forever folkes.! bing Crosby’s wife had to sell over six hundred suits and sweaters and Marlene Dietrich had thousands of items. Michael jackson I know not in the same catagory has let many warehouses of memeoribilia get taken over because of un paid bils and taxed. There is so much stuff connected with show business

  5. Yes, this was the auction that Sid held in November 1978 at The Beverly Wilshire…and I was there! I spent both days of that weekend, from opening to closing, in Judy Heaven! It was sad, but nice to be surrounded by her stuff…maybe too much was Sid’s (greedy old troll), and there was the battle with Liza. In fact, because of her contesting the validity of his rights to sell her mother’s property, some of the money was held up in court, including one of my checks!

  6. I remember seeing this on Good Morning America (1979)10th anniversary of her death. The reason I remember it is the Rolls Royce. I thought if Judy had a RR, why was she in debt. Everyone was using her because she did not handle her finances.

  7. Hi defundthewar . . . hope this finds you well. I’m pretty sure this version of “After You’ve Gone” was from one of Judy’s early fifties Palace engagement recording(s) — has that sound and other indications.

  8. I believe the song is from the Longbeach concert. I’m not quite sure of the year.

  9. I’d be interested to know when this recording of “After You’ve Gone” was made and where. I know it’s not Carnegie Hall, but it doesn’t sound like her TV series. Re: the auction, it was on the news and old-timers like Jane Withers were there. I read that some items- like the Rolls- were more Sid Luft memorobilia than Judy’s, since he drove it, rarely her. 20-ish Joey Luft was there and seemed even then to be wearing a rug. Liza boycotted the event, at some fancy LA hotel- I forgot which.

  10. I appears to be the 1978 auction held by Sid. Liza objected, but the courts allowed the sale.

  11. They came from video from a VHS tape. I took pics of the television to share a little of what I have. (I’ve offered the tapes to someone and am just waiting for pickup at the moment)

  12. Not sure about when, maybe someone else could help with that question. It was mentioned on a television news station that Liza and Sid didn’t agree with the auction. I don’t have any details.
