Question by tps: I see a lot of websites advertising government used car auctions? are these sites dependable?
Has anyone purchased a car from one of thesesites?

Answer by Steve M
Forget the websites. They want your money. All the government auctions are available online. Don’t expect any $ 10 Porsches. Thats what the sites tell you to get your money. I have gotten a few reasonable deals at government auctions. Study ahead of time and know what things are worth. Buyer beware.

We are struggling financially. With the mortgage, car note, car insurance (on two vehicles) credit card debts, student loan payments and monthly utilities ( electricity, and water) not to mention phone bill, etc etc, my husband and I are falling deeper and deeper into the hole each month. We have three kids and we have to keep in mind that we need money after all the bills are paid to feed our family. We keep bouncing checks just to make it from month to month therefore spending money before we have it and putting us deeper and deeper into the hole. My husband and I talked about what we should do. We are going to cut back on expenses and get rid of extras….also we have a truck that is paid for. We are still very much in debt with the car and owe somewhere around 10k still. If we were to let them come and pick up the car, our family would be saving 500/month. We only need one vehicle anyways. Should we go ahead and do this? I’ve never had to do something as drastic as this before. What are some of the things that will be involved? I know it will effect the credit for 7 to 10 years. Also, we have consoladated our credit card bills and we pay one payment a month. When the car is auctioned off and the remaining balance is put forth to us, we plan on consoladating that as well with the other debts. Please, anyone have any advice or any other approaches to this difficult situation?
we’ve tried food stamps and medicaid but we do not qualify.

My father in law bought a car from my wife’s ex 3 months before their separation. He has a signed paper by the owner that the vehicle will now be owned by my father in law. He also has documentation that he made a 10,000 dollar pay off on the truck. Believe it or not the shady guy comes and repossesses the car while hes asleep when hes been refusing to give the title up for over 2 yrs with convenient delays. Now this is very scary because hes desperate for money right now. Is there anything at all we can do to get the car back. Please help me out as this is time sensitive and a lot of lawyers are not giving us any answers we can work with! Thank you ahead of time.
It was basically a bill of sale. But he never gave him the title so he could go and get it in his name. Big mess:(
This happened recently btw around 24 hrs ago. The title has been in limbo for a long period of time.

Looking to buy a good cheap car. Can’t buy from arena auto only for dealers so just looking for public ones thanks ahead.

My grandmother took out a loan in order to purchase a new car for my baby sister whose credit was horrible. My grandmother then went ahead and put the car in her own name(grandmother’s name) for my sister and allowed my sister to make the payments herself in good faith. But my baby sister has missed many, many payments and I believe she is currently at least 3 months behind. Also her license plates are not current, as matter of fact she has old out of date plates from another car on the car in order to thwart attention from the highway patrol. And my grandmother’s credit has been RUINED in the process. This weekend my grandmother had enough and she demanded that my sister no longer drive the car and leave the car parked until the payments have been caught up. But my sister refused and took the car anyway. I was wondering if since the car is in my grandmother’s name should she call the police to report the car stolen or if she could perhaps have the car repossessed and brought back to her own property. Which option do you feel is best, not to mention the legality of each and why? Desperate.
