It gets pretty boring when you are driving down the expressway and you see all the identical colors of vehicles. Sure they’re different makes and styles, but color wise they are totally the same and dull. And then every once in a while some thing really dynamic stops beside you. It’s one of those cars that has been painted with a custom design. To paint a car is one thing but to custom paint it is a whole new thing.

At the least when you went to purchase your car you had a couple more color selections then maybe your grandfather did in his day and age. Now today, not only do you’ve to determine on colour, you are required to decide if you want metallic, or rust-free or even scratch proof finishes.

You really got to know what you what when painting your car. It is not cheap to custom paint a car. The paints are a very high grade poly urethanes.

When it comes time and you want to paint a car and you’ve decided to have a customize design put on it, then you are going to have to choose which type you want. A couple of years back the burning flame was the rage. To see a black car with those flames running down the sides was the envy of every other avid car lover.

The flames are still really hot but the designs are more or less different. They cover more of an area.

Some other hot design is animals such as the wild mustangs or the flying eagle. Then there are designs that are just abstract in nature. The skulls and crossbones type art used to be much more popular when it came to motorcycles, but it has sort of caught on with those car buffs that really want to paint a car with the custom-made designs. Some other unusual observation as well is that people like to just have the art painted as a mural on their trunks for illustration.

One of the newer kind designs that truly sort of fit in between the skulls and the flames is the dragons. These’re becoming increasingly hot, and one has to admit they indeed look pretty amazing.

In nowadays age if you have decided to paint a car and have a custom design then you may find that an automotive logo design is suggested to you.

Then there’re individuals who want to paint a car all in metallic with a mixture of colours as opposed to whatsoever kind of graphic. These could be quite awesome when the colour selection goes well together and the air-brush color application flows.

One thing to keep in mind, it you want to paint a car and custom-make it with a design, it is not inexpensive. It could get rather pricy the more defined and elaborate you go. So its well worth only having it done on a car you intent on keeping for a while, or at least selling at a reasonable price.

If you have decided to paint your car, then you’re in for a real adventure, and hopefully a positive one. Various people do paint their cars and they turn out great. Theres zero reason yours will not, say you stick to the rules and guidelines. One of the most important things youve to do is make sure you buy the proper car paints, and that you apply them exactly as instructed. Like whatever technology the car paints have taken on a different character and changes over the years. Naturally they must stay consistent with what the car producers are using or there would be no compatibility in the car paints at all.

You’ll see when you go to buy your paints that there is a variety, so you will have to make various choices. It’s not a low-cost commodity, so you want to be certain before you start that youre going to have the budget to purchase your car paints in enough quantity to finish the job.

One of the things you will need to determine when you buy the car paints, is do you’ve the equipment that might be required to use that certain paint. For example, if it is a brand of paint that needs application with a spray gun, then do you have access to one. Unless you’re inclined to do so, it’s unlikely youre going to want to buy a good deal of additional tools just for this one-time project. Unless of course you are planning on painting some other cars in the near future and this will be a investment for you.

It’s not merely the colour of the car paints that youve to decide upon, you are going to need to apply a primer also. Once again you must consider how this is to be applied. Some other alternative to buying paints that require a sprayer is to purchase the spray paint tins. Several individuals feel that it is more costly to go that route, but if you dont have to buy extra tools, then the price maybe really comparable.

You require to make sure that youre going to be able to buy more of the paint should you run out. Could you visualize the disaster it would be if you got the car three quarter finished and could not get more car paints because theyre end of the line and you purchased them on sale?

In either the paints that you utilise a spray gun with or aerosol cans there’re a variety of brands available. Be sure you buy from a reputable dealer, and hopefully one that can give you several advice. No doubt everyone would have a few favourite brands, but a bit research on your part would help as well.

Don’t forget that you’ll also require to buy a top coat too when you go to purchase your paints. Dont penny pinch when it comes to this one. You would have put a good deal of hard work into painting your car and you want the results to last. You could attain this with a good product.

by Ulrich Fieldman

Re-spraying your car implies that you are ready and committed to devote some time and cash to accomplished this project. Theres no reason why you cant do this yourself, but you’re going to need some guidelines.

First off set your mind to accept that you are not going to get a similar professional looking job by using spray paints from a can. Thats not to say you cannot use them and get proper results. Just do not raise your expectations to high. Respraying your car would take some getting used to.

1st Step: Sand the rough spots and fill the holes. Theres no point in doing this after you have cleaned the car you’ll just be defeating the purpose of washing the car in the first place.

Second step: You must begin with a clean car. If you dont then your final paint finish will be a mess. Every last bit of debris that you left on the car would be obvious after the respraying.

Hint: If your car is wet and you shine a light on it you will clearly see any imperfections that you did not catch in the first or second step

Third Step Now you have to mask off all of the areas where you don’t want paint. If you aren’t truly diligent in this step you can end up being genuinely sorry that you didnt. It will be a pity to have a glorious paint finish, but half the paint is on the windows or chrome.

4th Step Practice a little with your spray. There is a bit of a technique to it. Keep in mind we said that respraying your car does take some time. Practice on a piece of card board. That way you are not as likely to get squirts or blobs of paint. Keep the spray moving unceasingly, and in very light coats. A couple of light coats of paint are far superior to two thick ones, that’ll look very uneven.

5th Step Allow the coats of paint to dry at least 1 hour in between. Then apply the finishing coat. Over again this should be applied just like the paint. A smooth motion with just a very light coating.

By taking your time to do the job proper and following these respraying directions you should end up with a very good complete project. If you try and take shortcuts then this’s where your troubles will start.

Be sure you utilize good quality equipment and products. Slowly take your time, because when you begin to rush a stage then that’s where faults take place. Remember to use the right safety measures such as the correct protective gear.

Ideally it helps to be able to respray your car on a warm sunny day, as it helps to set or bake the paint on, leaving a better finish.

So keep in mind before you start out, do your research on the how tos and have each your equipment and supplies at hand, and youre ready to go for it.

Many individuals would suggest to you that utilizing aerosol spray paint to paint your car is not exactly a good choice. It’s true that youre not likely to get that car manufacturers perfect finish on it, but you still can get several nice results. The fundamental thing is that you purchase a good quality paint, and most important you apply it the right way. There’re several techniques to using aerosol spray paints. They are not hard to learn and are well-worth the effort.

Firstly you’ll need to learn if youre just touching up a specified region on your car, or if you’re going to repaint the whole vehicle. If you are doing a touch-up then you are going to have to pay good attention to color matching, where as in a complete paint job this isnt quite as important.

Assuming youre going to be doing a touch-up you would need a few items. You’ll require a couple of repair items such as sandpaper, putty and a knife. If the region you are working on is rough or chipped you would need to sand it down smooth. If there’re pit marks you will have to fill them with the putty then smooth this out.

You would want a good car wash detergent, and degreaser, even if you’re doing simply a touch-up, it must be utterly clean.

You will need a couple of paper and masking tape. Take the time to be diligent about covering different areas that can possibly be in the line of fire when youre apply your aerosol spay paint. Even a really light breeze could cause a overspray onto your chrome, windows, etc.

You got to choose your primer, color and finish aerosol spray paints. Be certain to do a color test by doing a really small area first. And then you’ll be able to proceed.

Test a couple of sprays on various cardboard first to be sure you don’t get whatever squirts or blobs, and the paint is spraying evenly. Don’t forget to shake the can for at least two or three mins so it is well-mixed, or you wont get an even color.

Keep the spray moving as you press down on the nozzle. Don’t hold it in 1 spot or you will get runs. Its much better to apply several really light coats, then one or 2 heavy ones. Say you apply it too thick it is going to be really un-even and extremely obvious. It will seem like this’s really time-consuming, but not nearly as much as it’ll be if youve to resand the paint off and start again.

Shake the can of aerosol spray paint every couple of minutes in order to keep it well distributed.

Your primer and your top coat must be applied with as much care as your colour is. With the correct application of your aerosol spray paint, your car can end up really awesome looking, and all of the work you put into it would have been well worth it.

by Ulrich Fieldman

So you just finished putting that very first coat of paint on that car that you have been mending and it looks great. You did not realise that you had to the talent to spray paint a car. The only problem is youve run out of time and cant get the second coat on. Well that’s genuinely not going to be a problem, the cars in a protected area so you can get back at it next week. You just stick the caps on the spray cans and stick them on the shelf for the time youre gone.

A week goes by and you are ready to go ahead and spray paint the car, or at least get the second coat on. You are all set up you’ve pulled the cans of spray paint off the shelf, and popped the lid on one of them. Then it doesnt seem to matter how hard you press the nozzle of the spray can nothing comes out. You know that you didn’t use it and it’s almost full. And then you realise it must be clogged. No problem you merely get a thin piece of wire and try to clean it out.

After various tries you realize it just isn’t going to clear, so you end up throwing an almost full can of rather expensive spray paint away. Then you remember what a buddy told you about spray paints. When you are done using them you must turn the can upside down and spray the paint for few seconds. This can be done on a piece of cardboard. It will clear all the excess spray out of the nozzle so next time you go to use it, it wont be blocked. A good lesson learned.

You didn’t realise the problems that can occur when you went to spray paint a car, but thankfully you’ve few cans of paint left so you can get on with it. You give the cans few shakes and finally out comes the paint. Theres one big trouble though, the color does not look rather idnetical. The label says it’s the similar color but what in the world is the problem here? Actually you most likely didn’t shake well so the color wasn’t correctly mixed. You must shake the can quickly you’ll hear the mixer ball inside the can rattle. Carry on shaking for at the least 3-4 minutes. Likewise at regular intervals while you’re spraying give the can a hard shake as well. This would ensure that your paint remains well mixed and will evenly distribute the color when you apply it. Bear in mind you must be as methodical when you go to spray paint a car, as you would a fine piece of furniture.

Another very important point to bear in mind is that to spray paint a car is a large job, and most likely you will be abit tired afterward. Clean up is really fundamental and that means making sure that you cleaned the nozzle of the spray as we talked about. Other really essential thing to bear in mind is to keep your paints safely. Do not leave them in areas where they can dry up or freeze up.

Spray paint could end up on your car several different ways. 1 it can be an over spray from different area that youre painting on the car. 2 it could be an accident that somehow the spray got on it. Or you made up your mind to spray paint the car yourself, then did not like it or made a mistake.

How challenging a job its going to be to remove it would depend on lots of elements. First, you need to determine the type of paint. Hopefully it will be a water based paint which’s much simpler to deal with. All you would most likely have to do here’s wash the field down well with soapy water. At present if it’s an oil based paint then it causes things a little more hard. Then another dilemma would be you don’t even acknowledge what kind of paint it is.

Firstly, there’re several kinds of paint. It can be lacquer or acrylic. It could even be enamel but this is not as famous as it used to be. If your original paint on your car happens to be enamel then if the unintended spray paint is lacquer or acrylic would make the enamel paint look wrinkled. Unfortunately, the one and only solution in this case will be to scrape the region clean and then repaint it to match the automobiles original color.

If youre lucky enough to have an original finish of acrylic or lacquer and enamel paint has been sprayed on top of it, there will not be any wrinkles to the basic. You want to determine if the paint is enamel, so here is what you do.

Take whatever paint thinner, kerosene, gasoline or turpentine and use a small amount to a clean white cloth. Now really gently rub over the paint you want to take out. If you see the paint color being transferred to the cloth, then it’s enamel. If the cloth remains clear then its acrylic or lacquer. If it did turn out to be enamel then just continue to gently clean off the residue of the paint.

Therefore if youve ended up with either lacquer or acrylic being the culprit then you would need to go and buy the finest grade of rubbing compound on the market for car finishes. Take a hand sized white cloth and lightly moisten it with some kerosene or turpentine. Just sufficient to wet the cloth, as it prevents the compound from caking, and makes the abrasive finer, which leaves a better finish. Patience will be the virtue here, as you must carry on inspecting the region you are working on so you do not remove or spoil the introductory finish of the car. Work in small circular motions with gentle pressure. Keep checking the colour of the paint on the cloth. Keep using several parts of the cloth, so your cloth stays somewhat clean, and you’re not simply putting the paint back on again.

The best solution is naturally not to spray paint the car at all. Accidents do take place though and as luck would have it for this peculiar one there is a solution.

What’re the advantages of spray painting your car with compressed air? To start with, it could be a real cash saver in the long term. There is a large investment required in the initial purchase of the tools, but once you have it, you will begin saving cash on your projects from there on in.

Another great advantage is that you have more flexibility in the use of the compressed air. Air pollution is a big issue in our current world. Hence, the use of aerosol propellants are frowned upon. The best answer to this is the compressed air sprayer.

A great deal people shy away from utilizing compressed air sprayers because they think they’re too tricky. This is not the case. Once you get a little practice, using them theres no way you’ll want to go back to the aerosol spray.

The better paint to use in these sprayers is enamel, but if you add up an appropriate conditioner to the acrylic and latex paints then you could utilise them successfully too. This’ll allow the paint to flow the right way through the tube as it thins it down.

Established your working field the right way. When ever you’re going to do several type of spray painting there’ll be a certain amount of over-spray. Take all the correct safety guards. Do your work in a well ventilated region. Wear a mask for sanding. Be certain to wear goggles and preferably gloves too.

Once you are all set up then youre ready to begin. You will want to grind or sand off whatever rust and corrosion or rough spots. Then you must make sure the car is absolutely clean and dry before you start the application. For oil-based paints utilise mineral spirits, and for the latex ones soap and water will work fine, but rinse well.

If need be, prime the surface. Do your mixing of the paints and thinners you have chosen to apply. This could be a topsy-turvy job, so protect the blending area with a drop cloth.

Now its time to switch on the air compressor. You want it to build up pressure while youre preparing your paint. You would need some of the air for priming and testing. If you look on the compressor, you should see a regulator. This would permit you to set the pressure you require for the sprayer. If you don’t do this then the air flow would fluctuate and you’ll end up with inconsistent spraying.

Attach the hose coupling to the sprayer. It’s significant you have an air-tight seal so make sure it’s attached tightly and wrap the join with a couple of Teflon tape if you want.

If you stick to the right instructions that came with your particular sprayer, it would walk you through every of the steps. To start with, practise the paint application on other object. This way you would get the feel of handling the sprayer and be able to judge the exact consistency of the paint application.

With the failing economy and the falling wages of worker, perhaps the solution to giving your car a different look will be to give your car a complete new paint job. If the mechanics and the engine of the car is in good shape, but you do not fancy the car body, then painting it will be the ideal answer.

Its a fantastic money saver, but even more so if you do it yourself as opposed to having it professionally done up in the workshop. You can do it right if you study the basics and follow the instructions for car spray painting. It’s important though if you decide you are going to take on this project that you are ready to see it complete till the end.

First of all, you require various supplies. These comprise of:

-coverings to secure the unpainted areas and masking tape to hold these in place -a good car-wash detergent and brush as well as a wax/grease remover. -various grits of sandpaper -primers and paint that’s urethane base for the car spray painting -paint sprayer -safety tools example masks, goggles and protective clothing -knife and putty for fill ins.

One : You must make sure that you wash the car thoroughly to remove all grime and debris. If you dont then these things would be set in with your paint, giving a genuinely daunting look to the finished job. Follow up with a wax/grease remover so the paint you utilise for the car spray painting will adhere properly.

2 : Remove whatsoever rough spots by sanding. Once this has been done be certain to rinse off whatsoever of the loose sandings. This’s where you will want to use the putty to fill in whatever minor pit marks, that are have been caused from stones for instance.

Three : Do not get in too much of a rush to begin your car spray painting. The car must be completely dry so its best to leave it to do so for some hours. You could go ahead and cover any of the areas that your dont want to get paint on.

4 : Presently youre ready to begin with the primer. Dont skip this step, as it will give a much improved look to the completed project. It helps the paint to adhere properly and allows for a more even finish. Next, once the primer is dry you’ll need to lightly sand it down.

5 : You are eventually at the step you have been waiting for. Its time to apply the color for your car spray painting. Whether you’ve chosen to use aerosol paints or a spray gun, the premise remains the same. Just apply thin coats. A few would probably be necessary. A Couple light coats are much better than one thick coat. You would be able to tell simply by looking at the car how many more coats of paint it’ll require. Various will just require two where as a few others might require three or four.

6 : In conclusion, down to the last step and that’s applying the clear coat. This’s done exactly the same as the colored coats.

Now you can have a look at your personalized car spraying.

by Ulrich Fieldman

It gets rather boring when you’re driving down the expressway and you see all the same colors of cars. Sure they’re different makes and styles, but colour wise they are all the same and dull. Then every once in a while something very dynamic stops beside you. It is one of those cars that has been painted with a customize design. To paint a car is one thing but to custom paint its a whole new world.

At the least when you went to buy your car you had few more colour selections then perhaps your grandfather did in his day and age. Now today, not only do you have to decide on color, you need to decide if you want metallic, or rust-free or even scratch proof finishes.

The flames are still very hot but the designs are reasonably different. They cover more of an area.

Some other favourite design is animals such as the wild mustangs or the flying eagle. And then there’re designs that’re just abstract in nature. The skulls and cross bones type art used to be much more popular when it came to motorcycles, but it has sort of caught on with those car buffs that genuinely want to paint a car with the customise designs. Other different observation as well is that people like to just have the art painted as a mural on their trunks for instance.

One of the newer kind designs that truly sort of fit in between the skulls and the flames is the dragons. These’re becoming increasingly hot, and one has to admit they indeed look pretty amazing.

In todays age if youve decided to paint a car and have a custom design then you will find that an automotive logo design is suggested to you.

And then there are individuals who want to paint a car all in metallic with a variety of colors as opposed to whatsoever type of graphic. These can be quite stunning when the colour selection goes well together and the air-brush color application flows.

One thing to remember, it you want to paint a car and customize it with a design, it is not cheap. It could get rather expensive the more defined and elaborate you go. Unless your intention is to keep the car, it’ll be rather expensive to customise paint it..
