Will Capital one repossess a car that was totaled out by the insurance company?

I was involved in an accident in which the insurance company deemed my car a total loss. I still owed captial one auto finance about 6,000 on it and I didn’t have gap insurance. I elected to buy the car back from the insurance company for 0, but now I’m worried about Capital one trying to repossess the car, even though it’s wrecked now. Will captial one reposess a vehicle which has been deemed a total loss? Will I get a salvage title from the insurance company automatically, or who do I need to contact to get that?

Car was impounded before it could be repossessed?

I was laid off and my unemployment checks barely covers my rent and food. I called my auto finance co. and told them I wanted to voluntarily give back my car since I could not afford the payments. (I already know about all the consequences; credit rating, still owe the money, etc.) Before I could give the car back the car broke down while driving and won’t start. It happen to break down on a side street that says no parking. Again I’m broke so I can’t afford to tow anywhere that day. When I finally did get a little bit of cash my car had been towed and I assumed is in an impound lot. Just curious as to what any of you would do in this situation; Get the car out of impound to turn it in or just let it sit and let the finance co. go get it themselves since they technically own it. Or maybe another option? Keep in mind I have NO extra money.

Can an auto finance company garnish someones wages who is ON SSI and doesn’t work for the loan balance? ?

If they repossessed someone car and then there is some amount owed, is this legal for them to garnish someones wages who is on SSI and does not work , and who lives in California

Out family car was repossessed when we were waiting for the End of Lease Contract Documemt. Please Help!?

Our family had a LEASED CAR, and our intention was to buy it at the end of lease in Nov. I made that clear to the AUTO FINANCE CUSTOMER REPS, TWICE.
The first time we received and sent the purchase documents, they said was INVALID because there was no PAYMENT CHECK. They told us that they will send us another document, so send that back with a PAYMENT CHECK. We waited, but NEVER RECEIVED THE DOCUMENTS.
During this process, 2 months passed, and they repossessed our car. As soon as I found out, I contacted them. They said we didn’t make the payments. I tried to explain to them and reason with them, but no one listened. We simply had to accept that our car was taken back.
We simply waited for the documents like they have said. We didn’t get billed for payments. We thought that would be settled when we get the documents. Now we owe 00+ for over-mileage and etc. We may get billed for damages. What can I do? Could I argue my case to the court?

I was 2 months late on my auto payment and the finance company “sent the loan out for repossession”?

When I found out about this I immediately paid off the loan in full. The auto was not repossessed. Will this appear as a repo on my credit report or will I just get the two lates appearing?
"What finance company did you go through? B/C they should have not sent out an order for Repo. just becuase you’re two months late!"

I know, that’s what I thought. I phoned them and they said they can repossess 7 days after the first late. What annoys me is that I phoned then one day before the first late to say that I was raising the money to pay off in full and could they wait a while. They said yes and that they would even waive any late fees. Bunch of idiots.
