Apparently, there are rules to this little site. So, let me edit my question appropriately as so not to offend anybody. I’m 19 and I have basically no credit. I want to try and get a used car, but I am unsure what would be the best way to do so, seeing as most car dealers require good credit and/or a cosigner. Is there anything I can do right now, or do I just need to wait until my credit score goes up?

I have car loan with UAC/Car Hop (worst decision ever)! I am having trouble making the payments and it is becoming clear that I need to let this car go back. My credit isn’t great to begin with (hence the need to go to car hop/uac).
I have tried working with the bank and they aren’t willing to do anything.
I just need advice.
I am thinking about bankruptcy after this to clear it all out and start over. I know my credit is screwed for 7 years but it will be with a repo anyway.

Ok, here is the deal. I was stupid and young and let myself get talked into buying a neon 4 yrs ago. The car is having some major issues with the transmission and the repair costs more than I can afford. The warranty has expired and I owe more than it’s worth(duh). I can’t get approved for a car because my credit is bad and the car adds about 5,000 onto the potential loan. I have some other debt I accrued while I was unemployed and couldn’t pay my bills and I am thinking about filing bankruptcy. I understand that if I file bankruptcy they might not include the car because I owe way more than it is worth. So the question is do I let them re-po it first and then file bankruptcy and if so do both show up on the credit report? Help! And thanks in advance to all of you that give serious answers.

My mom had 45 years of GREAT credit then…
My mom is the co-signer of my sister’s car.
It got repossessed and we got the car back.
My sister makes late payments.

I want to get a car now, and the only way is to get a loan.
Is her credit report going to be too bad to get the loan?

I live in Virginia and the car was repossessed by a credit union. Paid about half the loan off but spouse lost job and we are behind in everything. This is so humiliating – I am so ashamed.

Has anyone gone through this? Does a Credit Union let you pay just what’s late and you get you car back or do they want the full payment of what is still owed? What about my stuff in the car?

Not sure how much more of these money problems I can take…
