This was a verbal agreement between myself & a friend’s son. I have the title with myself listed as the lien holder. I repossessed the car once & he stole it back and there was nothing I could do about it. Anyone have any suggestions on how I need to proceed to get this car back so I can outright sell it?

My car payment was over 0/month. I was behind two months. I told them I was getting a lump sum of money in September and that would bring my account up to date. I was still sending payments, but they still repossessed my car. I called to see what I could do, and they want me to pay the full 15000, so I have to pay it off to get it back. They told me my state’s laws doesn’t require them to let me catch up on payments. I am so shocked. I don’t have the 15,000 to get my car out. I lost my job last year, found a pt job, ft student, and a mother. I am struggling. I have good credit otherwise. What can I do to save my credit? I have 20days to save my car. I have to figure all this out being carless. Anyone have any suggestions? People with experience only. Thanks!

My husband got a strange phone call from an 877 toll free number yesterday.
The guy left a message and said that they were going to repossess our new car.
We have never been late with the car payment. We have always paid on time every since we got the car. Don’t they have to mail you a notice of some kind before they can take any action?
Please help!
