Got a call from a debt agency. Ex husband surrendered the car (repo) and didn’t realize it was in my name too. Agency wants 00 and it’ll be "paid in full" or 00 and it’ll be "settle in full". I don’t really know how all this works. Had good credit before this happens. So now my credit’s bad but it won’t be so bad if I pay that fee? We verbally agreed that he would take the car so it wasn’t in the divorce paper.

My husband and I are in the market for a new car. We pulled his credit and found there was a repossession 4 years ago on the vehicle he currently owns. (before we were married). We paid it off two years ago. (after we were married).

Does the repossession stay on for 7 years after the car was repossessed or 7 years after the car was PAID for?

My husband bought a car that his dad co signed for. its about to be reposessed. The bank told him that if they come and take it his dad will take the fall for it. they said they would sue his dad. are they lying to scare him or can they really do that? i had a car repo’d a few years back and never got sued for it.
first of all…his dad said to let the bank take it…he was the primary…not like we did anything to his dad
my father has really good credit. he has 3 cars of his own and a half million dollar house and all are current. i didnt ask for your opinion. i asked a specific question.

I was purchasing a car from an buy here pay here car lot. I fell on hard times and lost my job and became one month late on my January payment, i made a partical payment and only owed 115, then i was also late with this months payment,so i only owed 0. Well the car lot sent a repo man out yesterday to pick up the car. I was devastated, however, i went to talk with the car lot people to try to make an arrangement to redeem my vehicle, to find that they sold my vechicle yesterday at auction…my question is "Is that legall or is there a time period when cn redeem the vehicle?

A couple were living together for a while. The woman bought a car, her name only on all contracts. She left him and left the car with him, not giving it to him, but, left the car at the home. Now it is time for the car to be repossessed and it is nowhere to be found. It was broke down, so it may be at a junkyard or something. If the car is never recovered, what happens to her as the owner? Can he be held responsible at all since the car was left there?
