i am wanting to buy an old small car that will be better on gas than my new gas guzzler of a truck which is a chevy blazer. i am on a five year loan for the car through the bank. i was told that i cant buy another car and then switch the insurance from my blazer to the car that i want to buy outright. so now i have to put both cars on the insurance and im not sure but i think that will be a lot more expensive. so im thinking of just putting insurance on my new car and stop paying for the old one, so it will get repossessed. my credit is already terrible so i dont care about that but im wondering wat will happen, will i get a fee, will i be taken to court, wat is the consequences to getting ur car repossessed. wat should i do in this situation, should i buy another car and then put insurance on it and stop paying for my car. can i do that? wat will happen.

I can’t pay for it, and my ex isn’t paying anymore. whenever i try to get money he flips out. i even have police reports from him threatening to kill me. It was stupid to sign for it, i know that, and i’m completely willing to accept the consequences of that. I’ve tried to sell it, but no one will buy it since the loan isn’t paid off so i don’t have the title. i’ve asked Chrysler for voluntary repossesion twice (in april and september) but they refuse. i’ve told them i’m not paying, but they are holding out either to ruin my credit even more, or because they think i will pay. I’ve asked them to reposses, i know they’ll sell the car at auction and i’ll have to come up with the rest somehow and i know that. i just want them to take it so i can start repairing my credit and i won’t have to have any contact with my crazy ex anymore. So is there any way i can force them to reposses?

I was laid off and my unemployment checks barely covers my rent and food. I called my auto finance co. and told them I wanted to voluntarily give back my car since I could not afford the payments. (I already know about all the consequences; credit rating, still owe the money, etc.) Before I could give the car back the car broke down while driving and won’t start. It happen to break down on a side street that says no parking. Again I’m broke so I can’t afford to tow anywhere that day. When I finally did get a little bit of cash my car had been towed and I assumed is in an impound lot. Just curious as to what any of you would do in this situation; Get the car out of impound to turn it in or just let it sit and let the finance co. go get it themselves since they technically own it. Or maybe another option? Keep in mind I have NO extra money.

It may be getting repossessed pretty soon, & I’ve been going through a financial crisis. What’s the worst they can do to me? Could I go to jail? What about be sued if I don’t have the money, & I’m living in a homeless shelter?
