Apparently, there are rules to this little site. So, let me edit my question appropriately as so not to offend anybody. I’m 19 and I have basically no credit. I want to try and get a used car, but I am unsure what would be the best way to do so, seeing as most car dealers require good credit and/or a cosigner. Is there anything I can do right now, or do I just need to wait until my credit score goes up?

I have always purchased my autos from my brother-in-law, who owns an independent (non-franchised) dealer. Since he buys the cars at auction, I save a lot of money. However, I’m currently unable to find anybody making loans for independent dealer purchases and I won’t finance the car through my brother-in-law’s lot. I have a credit score of 791 and have had numerous offers for "franchised" dealer purchases and person to person loans for cars. But none of the banks or lenders are allowing purchases from independent dealers. Where can I get a loan I can use at an independent dealer?

I am thinking about getting my first used car loan. If I go to a few different dealerships and they check my credit score for pre-approval for financing, does this negatively affect my credit score? If Dealer A checks my credit on Monday, and Dealer B and C checks my credit on Tuesday.. does this have negative impacts on my actual credit score, or report?

Thanks.

My car was voluntarily repossessed in december of 2006, they sold it at auction for just about what was left on the loan. When can I see my credit score improve?

How do you buy a used car?

11th February 2011

I want to buy a used car, ive never bought a car before and have some questions

If I don’t have a bank account or credit card can I still purchase a used car with a down payment and pay the monthly allowance? Do I need to get a credit score? What if I don’t have a credit score?
how do I get a loan?
