tranny problem?

25th May 2011

94 grand am 126000 miles. automatic trans. sometimes, after a stop usually high speed..above 45, the trans goes into neutral and wont move, tried shifting through the gears, and park and back, usually alittle rpm from the motor, and it drops into gear and goes…trans dont slip at all. I know it needs a filter and fluid change, but im selling the car.. was gonna ask 1000 but, now that the trans is acting up, do I spend the time doing the filter and fluid, or is it a more serious problem?? Ive done alot of reading in forums half say its a servo, half say its a Cracks in the forward clutch piston ? what ever that is..
I have a auto auction I can dump the car at but ill loose about 600 vs selling it running. whats your opinion?
