The customer called the police and the police went to the car lot and made them give her the car back and she made her payment. (imagine that) The police said you cannot leave someone stranded at the store. I need to know ASAP if he could get in trouble for this and if you find out where it says he can please give me the source! THANKS!!!
He repos for the used car lot he works for. I asked every department if he has to have a license to repo. There is no need for a license to repo. He is an employee of the car lot.
My husband was not arrested but he has to fill out a bunch of bull crap paperwork now.
Yes he always has a folder with all the documents required and reports it to the local police station as a repossession once the vehicle is in his possession.

I had a car repossessed by Chase in Sept of ’08. It sold at auction for 6,000 less than it was worth. On my credit reports it shows that I owe chase nothing, only that it was a repo and charged off. They didn’t sue me either. I haven’t had anyone contact me about this debt. Did it disappear? If the debt was sold does the new company have to contact me (or report to a bureau)within a certain period of time?
MARIA:

YES it shows the same on all reports:
Past due {content}, Balance {content}. Profit and loss writeoff
Caveat Emptor:

How long does Chase have to sue me? I imagine each state is different, I’m in Nevada if you happen to know NEvada laws

Imagine this scenario:
A car was brought from an auction by person1 for person2, the car was used by person2 with insurance but without tax and never registed. The car gets reported without tax 1 year ago and never used since, recently the car is then seen on the road "parked" and reported again to the police for no tax. person2 is now worried about the fines and possibility of invalid insurance. Now the only option seems to be to scrap or abandon the Lovely! car :( … Can the police see who has insured the car (i.e. details of their name and address) and trace it back to person2?

If I finance a car in the United States and then move to Canada and cease to make payments, can it be repossessed still?

I can’t imagine how they would find it. The only thing I can think of is when I register the car in Canada, the VIN number will show up. Do the United States and Canada share these records? Would the bank even search Canada? Would they really come all the way to Canada to take it? Could they?
