first off im in a custody battle with my kids dad over my 5 and 6 year old kids. about 3 months ago he with out car insurance wrecked his car. it was pushed in on the side front didn’t seam to be on the front of the car just the front side.

well last weekend the kids told me that their car was in the shop.
this weekend they told me it was still in the shop.
they told me their dad said it was in the shop to" fix the bump"

it has been over a week now at least and they still have to get rides from friends to take the 4 kids to the store and church and all that

they tell me that their step mom (only working parent in the house) has not been to work since the car went in the shop. their is no city bus. ( she may have just quit since she hates her job) and has a history or quiting

I know that their disability check for my ex either just stopped or should be stopping soon.

i am thinking that their car may have been repossessed since they have had at least 2 or 3 cars repo in the last 2-3 years on top of other things happening since they cant pay them such as elec turned off eviction notice ( income tax paid that so they didn’t get evicted) etc

what do you think the chance of it taking over a week to fix a dent in the car and the busted headlight. i know it took 3-4 days max to fix other cars i have see in the past.

i go meet with the guardian ad litem that i requested the court appoint us ( since he is not thinking best interest of the kids) and i just want to make sure i will not be telling him this if it is not possibly true
its not the matter of transportation its a matter of him saying he is fully financially stable and him not being. not to mention both of my kids are sick right now and he will not take them to dr since he doesnt have car and it too much of an inconvienence
i am in no means going to say anything for sure but i will tell him i have doubts

we dont think it is really in the shop we think he is telling the kids that to answer why they dont have a car. he has told thiem this same story last time it was repoed.

him having his car repoed would be a huge factor aginst him saying he is financially stable.

how can he afford to get his car fixed whick with out insurance will be a few thousand dollars and he has to get food from food banks

I bought a car from an auction, and i am currently trying to get the title under my name so that i can resale it for profit. I sold it to a woman for 700 flat rate and gave her a plain written reciept and orally negotiated that she can take the car and park it at her house until i get the title and then transfer the vehicle to her name. I trusted her and warned her and her son to not drive the vehicle until i sign over the title. Now her son was caught driving the car without any registration or stickers or license. He also had marijuana in his possession and the police impounded the car. And she can not get the car out without a title. So that means i would have to get it out myself with my money. Now this woman wants her money back. What should i do?
Today i finally got the title under my name and got insurance for the car which costs me 62$. The impound fees to get the car out will cost me 133$ plus 29$ per day that it is on the lot. Im waiting to come up with money to get the car out. The 700 $ went straight to my mother because she was the original one who put money into buying the car, she just used my license to buy it since my mother did not have a drivers license. so the vehicle would have to be registered under my name. My mother sold it to her while i was at the store, then on my way back to my mothers house i spotted the van and pulled them over to negotiate what will happen to the car because i did not want them to be driving it without any stickers. They told me they really wanted the car badly and were excited for it. So i felt sorry for them and just let them take the car and we negotiated that i will get title as soon as possible. So i know its my fault to for letting this happen, but also its her too for letting her

After buying a used car, could I drive it right away without auto insurance? Do I have to have auto insurance in CA? Thank you!

I’m planning on buying a used car from a dealership this week. I currently don’t have car insurance because I have never owned a car. Now if I were to buy this car would I be allowed to drive it off of the lot with car insurance or would I have to have proof of car insurance before I get there?
