From a used car dealer, and by approx. 100,000 miles. (This happened to someone I know.)
The Carfax showed the odometer had 87,000 miles more 17 mos. ago than it currently has, and the other records were all consistent with that. He also found out the dealer lied about something else. He is going to be talking to a lawyer about this.
@ Guy: I had a new engine installed in my own car a couple years ago. You’re right about that.

Do I need a lawyer or a credit counselor? I’m already going to see a shrink to get help for my A.D.D. which got me into this mess in the 1st place. Thank in advance!

I have a 1 year old car that is upside down ,000. I’m still current on the payments but it’s either a large mortgage and food or the car. I have to let it go. SUCKS for my credit but I made a poor decision in buying it, don’t preach (don’t need moral/ethics lessons right now). I do need to know what’s next. Can they garnish wages in California? Or sue me in court? Attach my house? Send Guido with a bat? At this point I don’t care about my credit cause I don’t owe anything on credit cards, I already have a house (no equity though) and I have another car that is paid off. I can live without good credit for another 10 years but I don’t want to get a lawyer.

Stating that they they sold the car for ,000 and now want the full balance of ,456 in 10 DAYS! I don’t have the balance, can I just send them 00 per month until it’s pay off, will they still take me to court. Please spare me the lectures, I need good advice, I already know I f*ucked up. What can I do to avoid going to court and wage garnishments? Should I see a lawyer
