I found a website that for $ 20 you get a listing of repo and government car auctions in your area…it claims to be completly legit but is it for real? Has anyone dealt with a site like this before? Are there requirements of the buyer?

All the “good” Car Auctions are for licensed auto dealers only. You could pay a used car dealer to bid for you but you would have to have cash to pay for it as financing is not part of an auction process.

I know its because the bank owns them, but doesnt somebody have to pay for them? My friend just bought 1 year old truck for 8900, and its legit, a great truck with no leans or damage. What gives?

2.5 years ago my car was stolen. It was found 3 weeks later, completely stripped. I left it at the impound lot.

I just finished paying off the loan and received the title in the mail, so I plugged in the VIN and came up with the police auction site.

It was sold off back in 2009.

This is probably a really stupid question … but is there anything I can do about getting it back? I know the answer is most likely No, but I want to hear some of the legal grounds if you know them. I didn’t sign any papers stating the police could keep it.

Okay – so if the police had the right to auction it, what about my legit and legal title that has the VIN of the car. It’s illegal to remove or alter the VIN, so it’s the same, and in my state technically I own the car.

Ok, im talking about the Govt seized, repo, etc..how legit are these? For example,there’s one site out there where i saw a 2008 corvette with 8 k miles on it sold for 7,000..you cant possibly get that car for at least 25,000..I emailed them because you have to pay 39.00 for a 2 year membership…BS..When i go to the customs auction site i see a bunch of crap cars with 100,000 miles on them ..i have a 500 hp mustang that gets absolutely zero traction in the snow and i want a used SUV or truck…Where can i go and do either live auction or online auction for something used

What’s the difference between the 2? which one’s better? i’ve heard many stories that you can get cars for dirt cheap, but there must be a catch, rite? i mean, i already know that you buy the car "as-is" no warranty, and they usually only accept cash. i’ve looked on a few sites and found that some ppl buy fairly new audi’s and bimmers for like 5000. the site i used was http://www.gov-auctions.org/
