I’m buying a used car today and am going to the CT DMV this Tuesday to register my newly purchased used car. Do I need to bring my license plates to the DMV? Also, would I legally be able to drive to the DMV with the new car even though the plates on the car are the sellers? Can someone please explain how this process works? Thanks!!!

I am buying a used car here in Michigan from an individual but plan to move to Tennessee next week to go to college. Can I get Michigan plates and use them in Tennessee, or will I have to get Tennessee license plates when I move down there? If so, then can I just get a temporary Michigan license plate or something? I am an older adult, single, and living with my sister here in Michigan. Both of my parents are dead.

So I witnessed a repo man changing the license plates on a car today in his lot. He removed Arizona license plates and replaced them with Washington plates with expired tabs. Is this legal?? Should I file a complaint with the attorney general. Seems fishy to me

My grandmother took out a loan in order to purchase a new car for my baby sister whose credit was horrible. My grandmother then went ahead and put the car in her own name(grandmother’s name) for my sister and allowed my sister to make the payments herself in good faith. But my baby sister has missed many, many payments and I believe she is currently at least 3 months behind. Also her license plates are not current, as matter of fact she has old out of date plates from another car on the car in order to thwart attention from the highway patrol. And my grandmother’s credit has been RUINED in the process. This weekend my grandmother had enough and she demanded that my sister no longer drive the car and leave the car parked until the payments have been caught up. But my sister refused and took the car anyway. I was wondering if since the car is in my grandmother’s name should she call the police to report the car stolen or if she could perhaps have the car repossessed and brought back to her own property. Which option do you feel is best, not to mention the legality of each and why? Desperate.
