I’m trying to purchase a used car but the dealer is over an hour away from my home and regular mechanic. What can I do to get this car checked out? The carfax police report said it was involved in a minor acident but the car now looks immaculate. Do I have to find a place near the dealer to do this? I’m just worrid as a non regular they won’t take the same care at looking at this car as my regular mechanic would. Please help.

In April of 2007 I had bought a vehicle from West Covina Nissan. A small SUV Nissan Xterra SE 2007 I paid the vehicle very good sometimes I was late but then I was able to always catch up on my payments and so I did that for close to a year. And on 3/2008 I had my vehicle stolen from me, close to my house. I had gone with some friends for 4 days and I had no need to take my vehicle as I was going with them on their vehicle. So I parked it close to my house. When I came back it was late at night and I was so tired I just wanted to rest and I had no need to look at the vehicle or go to it I thought it would be there when I need it the next morning. so I woke up and I did not see it so my first thought was that it got towed away and I called everywhere to the city the parking enforcement and last the police and they advised me to make a police report and I did. On 3/05/2008 and so all I had to do is wait. I have lojack and they did found it in Mexico the very next day according to this paper I got by mail a week later but the law enforcement in Mexico found it the next day of the police report. And so since then the finance company for some reason took possession of the vehicle and never let my insurance company go in and fix it so that I can get my vehicle back. and so they were giving me the run around and at the time I did not know I would still need to be paying the vehicle if it had gotten stolen and when they told me that the insurance company cannot go in to fix because I owed money I paid off the past due balance and everything should have been fine. And then my insurance sends my finance company the money to fix the car and then all I hear and get a letter is that the finance company sells the car at auction for nonpayment. After I had paid them the entire amount that was past due. They sold the vehicle on July 10, 2008 so from 03/05/2008 to 7/10/2008 they had the car and where giving me the run around and the car was supposed to have been returned to me. And so I need legal advice and I would like to hire a lawyer or attorney to help me in this civil matter. Thank you have a great day you can email me at jmarcial1983@yahoo.com for more detailed information if you are law professional

My grandmother took out a loan in order to purchase a new car for my baby sister whose credit was horrible. My grandmother then went ahead and put the car in her own name(grandmother’s name) for my sister and allowed my sister to make the payments herself in good faith. But my baby sister has missed many, many payments and I believe she is currently at least 3 months behind. Also her license plates are not current, as matter of fact she has old out of date plates from another car on the car in order to thwart attention from the highway patrol. And my grandmother’s credit has been RUINED in the process. This weekend my grandmother had enough and she demanded that my sister no longer drive the car and leave the car parked until the payments have been caught up. But my sister refused and took the car anyway. I was wondering if since the car is in my grandmother’s name should she call the police to report the car stolen or if she could perhaps have the car repossessed and brought back to her own property. Which option do you feel is best, not to mention the legality of each and why? Desperate.

Car repossessed or stolen?

11th March 2010

My daughter’s car was repossessed, so I thought. She had not made a payment in 5 months and one day we came home and it was gone. We thought they repo’d it. Now the financing company is saying they did not come get it. So now maybe it was stolen? I have to file a police report and say its missing. What are my options legally now? If they don’t find the car what can happen? I am confused. Serious answers only please.
Unfortunately, she only had liability insurance on the car so it isn’t covered for theft.

I recently bot a car at a police auction (and it runs!) for 5. I would get a great kick out of filling out a ‘police report’ and taking a black marker, and crossing out the case # names/addresses of ‘people involved’, and all other ‘important information.’ It would read something like this: At 12:03 PM, —— —— was sitting in a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim registered to—- —– in the parking lot of — —– Avenue. Victim was killed by 2 gunshots to the chest, according to the Medical Examiner —- ——-
– Officer ——-
OK. So would there by anything illegal about this? I can’t imagine, since there is actually no relevant information to support anything on this one.
I am pretty sure I will get many answers saying ‘Yes, I *think* it is illegal.’ or ‘No, I don’t think it is illegal, but I don’t know.’
Please don’t answer if you don’t know… plenty of other pages 2 get 2 points. Some girls believe anything, you know… Perhaps some ketchup as supporting ‘evidence’
