Up to how many years can I finance a new or used car? I need low monthly payments for the next few years. Also would it be better to get a car loan myself or let the dealership do it, that is if I don’t by from a private seller.

Oh and old of a car can be financed, dealer and private?

I want to buy a used car from a private seller. I’ve already had the car checked over by a mechanic and all that. Will a bank give me a loan of maye 00 to purchase the car since its from a private seller and not a dealer?

I’m looking to buy a used car but most of the cars i’m interested in are about an hour away from my house. It would be from a private seller, not a dealer. So, what would I do about the license plates. (I don’t have a car so now I couldn’t put my plates on it)

Basically what a finance company uses to determine the amount of money they will lend towards the purchase of a used car. I’m not looking for a trade-in, retail or private seller value – things i can obtain from Kelly Blue Book or Nada. I’m looking for a calculator that will give me the loan value of a used car based on the year, make, model and mileage.

I am planning to buy a used car, can anyone tell me how much tax I will have to pay on it? I know that if it is bought from a private seller, there won’t be any taxes, but if I buy it from a car dealership, will I have to pay GST + PST, or just one of them?

I’m in Manitoba, Canada
