government/bank auction car?

9th December 2011

Question by Tony: government/bank auction car?
Anyone buy an auction car before, please tell me your experience with it, can you really find and decent vehicles at the auction? I know that they sold the car as is and there’s no warranty or return. Is it worth the risk.

Where can I find local listing for bank/ government repossess car auction. There are a few site on the internet claiming to have listings for this, but they don’t look very credible.

Ask your local banks how they sell their repossessed vehicles. Some auction them off, others just take sealed bids.
Here In Ohio a company called Skipco has auctions of repos and seized vehicles .
Yes you are taking a chance as you do not get to test drive them, just inspect them an hour or so before auction.
But if you get it cheap enough you can afford to make some repairs.

Question by Frekwii: Car Auctions: are they a good way to get a nice car at a low price?
I need a new car but I cannot afford much of a car payment at this time. A friend suggested that I try a car auction. I know very little about how a car auction works but I am “researching”. Is this really a good way to go or are there too many risk for someone who has not a clue about a car engine.

It’s not something you should do if you’re not car savvy

Question by Ryan: How do you get car auctions and what is legit?
How do I look up a car auction and go to one in Atlanta, GA? Is it worth it? What is the risk?

All the “good” Car Auctions are for licensed auto dealers only. You could pay a used car dealer to bid for you but you would have to have cash to pay for it as financing is not part of an auction process.

Question by Grocer Jack: Governement Car Auctions? What is a good place to find Governement Car Auctions?
I have a couple family members who have suggested buying Salvage title cars after them doing so already. I don’t really want to take the risk of buying salvage so I was wondering about Government Car Auctions and where would be a good place to start out. Thanks!

I buy at auction most every week, the trick is to get the latest modle vehical you can with the lowest mls you can.And always buy from an insurance rated car auction.Like state farm or farmers,my have to do some body work or repair .but rest asured the vehical was running when it was put in auction,Unless otherwise stated at auction.

What do you think? Answer below!

No auto insurance firm offers the lowest rate to everybody. They are going to give the most interesting rates to drivers that fit their criteria or profile for the best risk. You cannot always tell by the advertisements or commercials they run. Some are looking for old drivers and do not hide the fact – older meaning more than 50 years old. information-get.com
