Mistake #1 – Failing to Check The Vehicle’s History
It is imperative that you be prepared when you buy a vehicle at a seized cars auction. The first thing you should do is to find a good auction guide to get started. You should know just what you’re looking for and you should get a vehicle history report after you’ve chosen a specific vehicle. If you don’t do this, you may find that the car that you’ve bought is actually a lemon instead of the car of your dreams.
Mistake #2 – Not Checking on Warranties
You may be purchasing your vehicle “as is” with no warranties at all if you’re not careful. Normally, you will be provided with a free limited warranty when you buy at a seized cars auction. You may also have the option of purchasing an extended warranty for an additional cost. Before doing that, however, you may want to check to see if the vehicle itself still has the balance of the factory warranty.
