Car Dealership Sold me a Car that they bought from an Auction with a bad check HELP!!!?
10th September 2010
bought a car from a dealership, it wasnt a huge dealership with any BIG name etc. but was a decent size and had been there for quite awhile selling vehicles…. paid for the car through a bank wire transfer, got the bill of sale, now they inform me that I cannot get the car because the owner of the business did not pay the auto auction that the car was from..
The owner bought the car from the auto auction and paid for it with a check.. he then took the car to his lot, sold it to me, and when I went there the auto auction informed me that his check bounced!
Now the dealership, no one is there!
I cannot get ahold of anyone by phone, e-mail or anything!!!
I contacted an attorney now, and I am so distraught.
Any one gone through this or have any advice for me??
I want the car I paid for!
((the reason that i didnt take it the day I paid was because it was being detailed))
Whats going to happen now? Can I still get my car from the Auction??
He actually did OWN it when he sold it.
The auction knew him well, and signed over the title into his name in good faith.
but then when the check didnt clear, they came and towed the car back to the auction….
I contacted the auction and they said this happened before ((not with this dealership i went through))
but with another situation almost exactly like mine….
The way the Auto Auction handled it was to give the car to the buyer, AFTER proper proof of Bill of Sale, & Reciept.
Gave the car to the buyer, and pursued the dealer for the money…
I am hoping they do the same for me in this matter….
The dealership is still up and running and selling cars!!! All they tell me now is that the owner , no one can FIND!
Looking To Sell Your Used Car Online?
4th August 2010
Are you looking to sell your car? If you are then of course placing an advert in any newspaper or car magazine locally could prove beneficial. But there is another way that is much better and which has been used by thousands of others already and that is to place an advert for it online. Today you can use either online classifieds or use websites that allow you to advertise the sale of the vehicle for free. However you need to make sure that you grab the attention of people who would seriously consider wanting to buy it from you. So below we provide a guide to selling a car online that you may find useful.
Point 1 – Make The Photographs Appealing
You need to remember to make sure that you create the first right impression with the main photograph of the vehicle that you will be using in the advert. One of the great things about selling a car online is that you are able to include more than one photograph in your advert. In order to ensure that you make the right impression first off spend some time cleaning not only the exterior but also the interior of your car before taking any photographs.
Also don’t limit yourself to just front, side and back shots of the car, but ones from other angles, such as from above. As part of our guide to selling a car online include a photograph of the engine, but before you do again clean it. Plus make sure that you take photographs of the vehicle in front of something that will draw any potential buyer’s attention away from it.
Point 2 – Take Time Over Writing The Description
Yes a picture really can say a thousand words, but when it comes to selling a car providing a great description as well can really help if you include action words that will cause a potential buyer to react positively. When you are writing the description ensure that you use words that are powerful but simple. For example instead of writing “the condition of the engine is impeccable” write something such as “the condition of the engine is great”.
You must make sure that within the description you list the basic features of the car you are selling, such as the make, model and year it was registered. Also list the mileage it has done and the price you are looking to sell it for. Other information you must include in the description should be about the number of people who have owned it before as well as the condition of the car. Also if you happen to have evidence relating to the car’s service history then include a few words about this in the description.
Point 3 – Offer Reliable Contact And Personal Information
This is something very important to remember and which is why we have included it in our guide to selling a car online. It is important that the personal information that you provide that will allow potential buyers to contact you is the kind that will allow them to get in touch with you straightaway. Of course if they cannot reach you then the likelihood of you selling your car at the price you want is far greatly reduced.
If you are looking for a website to sell a used car, then you can try a classifieds website such as Make and Model who are based in the United Kingdom and advertise a selection of used cars.

How do I find a good car at an auction?
5th December 2009
I am going to start buying & selling cars from public auto auctions in California.
I am doing my research now, I’d like to know how to avoid buying lemons (I’m not really a car guy)
And if u have advice, i’d appreciate any/all
I’d also like to know how many cars I can buy & sell legally, with out having a dealers license.
And i’d like to know how to calculate the Tax on cars from the auction.
Thanks!
