When buying a used car, what kind of fees and taxes can I expect to pay on top of the agreed price?

Say I find a used car and the dealer and I agree on ,500. If I pay cash, how much would i have to spend after all the taxes and fees?

$2,500 to the dealer. Then you have to pay sales tax, transfer fee, license to your local DMV. Insurance if you do not have it. You did not say what state you live in so you need to call DMV there to find the other fees.

Tax, at whatever rate your state, city & county calls for (3.5-10%), title fee which can run $15-75, some dealers charge a "doc fee" of anywhere from $49-495.
And then you have to buy a tag when you go to register it.
The "doc fee" is often negotiable if you are willing to cancel the deal over it.
They wont usually remove it but they may reduce the sale price by the amount of the doc fee.
