  1. new car dealers normally take their older "non-selling" inventory to auto auctions and used car dealers buy them. Used car dealers can buy and sell too. You have the "RED LIGHT" sales which is repo’s and junk cars being sold "as-is." The "GREEN LIGHT" is drive and buy inventory.

    If you’re not a licensed car dealer, you can’t buy or sell at these auctions. You may be able to accompany another dealer to an auction if you can pull some strings.

    You can also use kelleybluebook.com to look up the trade in, private value, and retail value of particular models.
