Hi, I’m looking for a used car but I really don’t have that much money to spend. I’ve been all over the internet lately but can’t seem to find anything which has caught my eye. Craigslist and Ebay are not yielding any favorable results. I know that there are ceased cars being auctioned off by the police, DEA, etc. Can you tell me where I can find these auctions in my city?

I’ve heard that auctioned vehicles can be a bargain if bought wisely but I can’t find any of these auction listings. The ones available are not free either. Can you suggest some good sites to see these auctions in my local city or just to browse used cars in general?

Thanks……………………….!!
LA is quite far from where I’m at in SAC.

  2. In california theres a street in LA where you get cars cheap and almost new berly used and some are even restored. The street is called Alameda blvd. Its in compton but still its better than a dealer ive seen a nissan altima 2009 for about 3Gs and i saw the same car at a local nissan dealer the next week for 7gs and the one i saw in alameda blvd. Was restored with speakers and chromed out inside and outside with a sick exhaust but this only applyss to you if you live in cali.
    Hope it all works out.

  3. good cars almost never make it to auctions. By the time any car gets that far, if it was worth something it would be gone. Even those police auctions the expensive cars end up as undercover cars or are traded to other agencies for undercover cars, all the other low cost stuff trickles down until as a last resort ends up in an auction. Since you cannot drive the vehicle, or even start it there is no way to even tell what is right or wrong. Save your money dont do the auction thing. There are no free websites for auction lists. Plenty of greedy people will be glad to sell you one for 49.99 however, I will tell you how to do it for free. first look up each seperate police agency you want to go to on the internet. write down the phone number, then call and ask if any auctions are coming up. you will get a date for an auction, another phone number, or a way to sign up and get on the automatic mailing list.
The best way to buy a used car, is also the slowest. private party. and most likely a local paper is going to be your best bet and let me tell you why. Old people sometimes sell good cars. they have no clue about internet craigslist or any other barf car site. look in your local newspaper, try to find some old guy or woman with a nice good looking used car, take it for a long test drive, then go to your mechanic. if he says buy it, thats what you do. It takes longer its slower, but your money goes farther and you will get a lot better car.LOOK on these websites http://www.nada.com in the consumer section for used car prices. carcomplaints.com make sure you do not buy the worst car to own ( go look on the list) and http://www.samarins.com has lots of free information on how to buy a used car, what to look for and what to look out for. there is also a used car review list. good luck, be patient, save your money and keep the faith, you will find a jewel of a car, just have patience good luck.
