I lost both my job and car. I live in a large area and public transportation is questionable at best. Is there anywhere that I can apply for a small loan (no more than 0-00) So I can purchase a used car and find a job in my city?

  1. Oops! Got it backwards. Find a job, then a car.

  2. Any family member who might be willing to loan you as much?

  3. Find a job that is not to far from your place then start saving after you have enough that’s the time.

  4. Any car that you buy for that amount will nickel and dime you to death. Look for jobs close to home or find a job and move close to it.

  5. For that small amount of money, I would just tell you to dig deep and take the bus to work for 1 month. If you make ONLY $8/hour, work 40 hours a week, after 4 weeks, you’ll have $960 …that’s after taxes! (I’m assuming you’re in the regular .25 class bracket like most Americans)

I did this in college…took the bus in the middle of winter in a horrible neighborhood. But damn, it was nice making all that money on my own and getting a little junker after 1 month of hard work.

No one’s going to give anyone with no credit history and no job any type of loan. Especially not in this economy.
