  3. You can get a cheap van from any type of auction, not just the police auctions. Just make sure you give it a good inspection before buying because auction cars are sold in as-is condition. Other than that you can save a couple thousand dollars easily. http://www.mycarauctionreview.com has a couple of sites you can go to that have auctions in NYC.
